Despite Covid-19, Hurricane Zeta, and Hurricane Ida hitting during her first term, D’Lynn still managed to provide for our community!
1. DRAINAGE: One of D’Lynn’s most significant accomplishments has been the approval of 5 major drainage projects for our area. These projects are crucial for addressing the longstanding issue of water retention and ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents.
2. OUR CHILDREN: D’Lynn spearheaded the improvement of our softball fields in Larose Recreation. By turfing these fields, we have transformed them into top-tier facilities, providing our children with a safer and more enjoyable playing environment.
3. FISHING: D’Lynn saw a need for a new public boat launch in Delta Farms. She has taken action and currently has the bid process ongoing. This infrastructure progress benefits both our recreational fishing and boating community as well as commercial fishing in our area.
4. HEALTH CARE: D’Lynn relentlessly fought for better provisions and successfully lobbied for funding to ensure a temporary hospital for emergency care in our community. This achievement paved the way for FEMA’s approval and funding of a new permanent critical care hospital at Lady of the Sea. She has worked hand-in-hand with the former and current CEO of Lady of the Sea Hospital and the Board Members to ensure we meet all requirements for funding. By securing these resources, we are ensuring that our residents have access to top-quality healthcare services, especially in times of crisis.
5. EDUCATION: Another area of passion for D’Lynn is our community’s educational resources. When our government building and library were destroyed, she fought tirelessly to establish a temporary library for our residents. This temporary library enabled our community to have access to the internet, learning, books, and facsimile usage among other resources. Since then, construction of our new government building and library has begun, marking the rebuilding of a vital hub of knowledge, connectivity, and learning that our community deserves.
"I have been a resident of Lafourche Parish for over 39 years and I'm very proud to call this community home. My husband Carl and I have been blessed with six children and currently three grandchildren. We love this community and will do whatever it takes to see it grow and be a blessing for its families for generations to come.
I humbly request your support and trust to continue serving as your advocate and champion for South Lafourche District 8. Together, we will build upon our achievements, address any remaining challenges, and ensure our community thrives. I am committed to being accessible, and responsive, and always looking out for the best interests of our residents."
